Acupuncture HackneyAcupuncture
An ancient Chinese medicine used to help modern Western disease. It is one of the longest established forms of healthcare in the world but there is new evidence of how and why it works. Acupuncturists are trained to use subtle diagnostic techniques that have been developed and refined over thousands of years. The focus is on an individual, not your illness, and all symptoms are seen in relation to each other. Treatment involves the insertion of very fine needles into specific points on the body to affect the flow of your body’s qi, or vital energy. Our acupuncturists are Esperanza Fernandez and Fatima Bailey.

Aromatherapists use natural plant oils blended for your individual health needs. Our therapists use these oils to massage tissues of your body so it is not surprising that this is one of our most popular treatments. Whether you have muscle pain, poor circulation, difficulty sleeping or even depression, aromatherapy might be the answer for you. Our therapists are Anne Derby, Michelle Mylonas and Rosemary Mason.

Foot Health
As we get older it becomes less easy to look after your feet yourself. Whether you find it difficult to reach your feet, can’t see them properly or can’t cut your nails, letting nails and hard skin get out of control leads to other problems. Jennifer Irving and Paula Branch are here on Mondays to help you get the best out of your feet, so you can get the best out of your life.

Herbal Medicine
Probably the oldest form of medicine in the world, medical herbalism makes use of plants whose traditional uses are backed up by modern scientific research and clinical trials. Unlike most GPs, Anne Derby, our medical herbalist takes a holistic approach to ill-health, treating the underlying causes of disease rather than just the symptoms and therefore prescribes herbal remedies that can be used safely alongside and other medication and treatments that your GP might have prescribed for you.

Homeopathy
Based on the principle that like cures like, it is used by more than 200,000,000 people world wide. Anita Wicks, our homeopath, will reach a thorough understanding of your health and the exact symptoms you are experiencing, in order to find a homeopathic remedy which matches you and your symptoms as closely as possible. During this confidential, in-depth ‘case-taking’ process she will want to know precise details of your current illness, but will also consider other aspects of your health including your past medical history, diet, lifestyle and personality.

Osteopathy
You may think osteopathy is a treatment for bad backs, but it is much more than that. It is a way of detecting, treating and preventing health problems by moving, stretching and massaging a person’s muscles and joints. It is based on the principle that the wellbeing of an individual depends on their bones, muscles, ligaments and connective tissue functioning smoothly together. Our osteopaths are Diana Rogers and Jo Christophe.

alt = reflexology

Reflexology
A non-intrusive therapy based on the theory that different points on the feet, lower legs, hands, face or ears correspond with and are linked to different areas of the body. Wendy Morgan will gather detailed information and take into account any mental, physical and emotional factors that might be affecting your health and wellbeing. This is a thoroughly individual treatment tailored to you as a whole person.

Shiatsu
Shiatsu is a physical therapy that supports and strengthens your body’s natural ability to heal itself. It works on the whole person – the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of being. Although shiatsu means ‘finger pressure’ in Japanese, in practice a practitioner uses touch, comfortable pressure and manipulative techniques to adjust the body’s physical structure and balance its energy flow. It is a deeply relaxing experience and regular treatments can alleviate stress and illness and maintain health and wellbeing. Our shiatsu practitioner is Ruth Solomon.
